Testing new light meter & myself!

Here are two pics. I took today using the new gossen light meter.One mistake I made is I forgot to set camera to spot metering . I had it at center weighted average.Do the colors and contrrast look O K ?I did use the auto contrast with elements 8 thats all.

The first one is OOF, but the second, colors look pretty good, although the light can be a little on the bright side?

If you're using a hand-held incidence meter (and using the settings it reccomends), then your choice of camera metering pattern is moot.

Looks as if your DOF is very shallow on these images but the exposure looks good.

Metering pattern is moot?Whats that mean?I'am still green behind the ears!:D

I suppose you're mostly looking for comments on your technicalities, however I find the composition to be slightly off. I'm kind of left wondering ...what?

What FlyingPhotog means is that if you're using your meter to set your settings, then spot metering vs. averaging the picture doesn't matter. it's redundant.

I walked outside and found the walnuts and crabapples on the ground just figured the different colors might be intresting .I guess the main thing I am lookin for if the exposure is OK.

yes, it's good. all that person was saying is that you use metering to set your exposure, however if you're using a light metering, it makes the need for in camera metering non-existant.
