Today, finally I ordered one with sigma TC 2x and now I am waiting for the delivery. I just wanted to thank everyone for the valuable input which helped me in pulling the trigger. PS: nice shot of the seagull and also is the above photo using TC or without TC? Congratulations! Im sure you will enjoy it a lot. Name: Theron

Feb 18, 2012 08:04 | #1852 I think my window is faulty - it seems to only attract chimney pots not birds - but: f7.1, ISO 400, 1/320sec taken on tripod with OS off. Follow the link for flickr and fullsize version Not quite as good as my 70-200mm MII with a 2*TC but honestly good enough for me! I've tried some wide open but I can't ever seem to get anything that comes out good so I think f7.1 is a fairly hard line limit for this combo - but with a zoom pushed twice its focal length that is to be expected. Tools of the trade: Canon 400D, Canon 7D, Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS L M2, Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 OS, Canon MPE 65mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro, Tamron 24-70mm f2.4, Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 8-16mm f4.5-5.6, Raynox DCR 250, loads of teleconverters and a flashy thingy too

Feb 18, 2012 18:30 | #1856 Far as I know the whole of the new OS line has the new finish and not a touch of the old "fuzzy" sigma finish. The Canon 600mm f/4 IS or Canon 300mm f/2.8 IS w/ 2xTC are always an option if the IQ doesn't hold up to what you need....might be a slight price difference...
