Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 EX OS

A couple from a motorkhana on the weekend. All with the OS (non sport), Sigma 1.4x TC and Nikon D4. Found that OS mode 2 (I was handheld) and dropping back to f/5.6 massively helped my keeper ratio when panning.

According to Sigma, it says EX OS version has one SLD and one FLD element, Sport version has two FLD elements.. so not exactly identical.

again, not really sure where you are exactly seeing that...the listings for the lenses on B&H list them both as having 1 SLD, and 2 FLD elements

Yes, I have seen that. I made some further research and indeed it looks like they both have 2 x FLD.

Yeah, the Digital Picture IQ test is confusing. The new S version looks better, but when you compare samples taken with 2x TC, the old non-S looks better, which is bizarre. I am 99% sure Brian used the same Sigma TC for both tests, so I don't know what's going on with those samples. To me it is virtually impossible to have visibly better IQ without TC, then visibly inferior IQ with the (same) TC on both lenses.

A couple from 7DmkII and the 120-300 Sports

Nice, ad first i was thinking looking ad the topic, "this is gone hurt" .

Having ultimately decided I'd wait to purchase this lens, I found a great deal on the sport model so I should have it sometime next week hopefully. While waiting to take delivery, I've started to look at backpacks to use.

I'm looking to purchase a backpack which would hold this lens mounted to a 1d body and additional 24-70 and possible 70-200 at the same time. Also possible still have room for another crop or 1d series camera.

I'm very interested in the f-stop loka backpack with the large pro icu. I believe this should work well to bring to track meets, etc and allowing easy access to gear, while also allowing me to purchase a smaller icu for times I need to bring more equipment to go on a longish hike and just take my small fuji kit. I'm having difficulties determining if the sigma with a 1d body will fit in the large pro icu. From the cost, it'll be a while before I could order anyway. Anyone here use f-stop backpacks that could help?
