A couple from a motorkhana on the weekend. All with the OS (non sport), Sigma 1.4x TC and Nikon D4. Found that OS mode 2 (I was handheld) and dropping back to f/5.6 massively helped my keeper ratio when panning.

Yeah, the Digital Picture IQ test is confusing. The new S version looks better, but when you compare samples taken with 2x TC, the old non-S looks better, which is bizarre. I am 99% sure Brian used the same Sigma TC for both tests, so I don't know what's going on with those samples. To me it is virtually impossible to have visibly better IQ without TC, then visibly inferior IQ with the (same) TC on both lenses.
