Here are a couple of cosplay shots taken ten days ago at a small convention. Said convention is held every year in Paris, in Bercy Park, and it's a wonderful location for photoshoots.
I did not really feel like shooting that day, though, so I only got to do a shoot with two of my usual models when they asked me.
Here is Seith :

and here is Vela :

It shows that not only you, but also the models did not really feel like shooting that day.
I like the way the light falls through the trees on the second picture.

Pretty much! It's where a bunch of people get to together and model costumes from anime characters they have either made or bought from someone else who makes them. My sis in law makes costumes and sells them and models some herself.

from anime characters

not just anime.
Cosplay is about reproducing the costume and attitude of a character from any kind of fiction, be it Japanese or not. I've seen people cosplay from comics of all origins, video games, live action movies and tv shows, music videos...
The activity itself was actually born in America in scifi cons, Japanese scifi fans imported it and named it 'cosplay'.

Thanks for commenting anyway ;)

Thanks for the answer :) I've seen the term used several times but never really know what it meant.

Here are a few more pictures I took during the last anime convention I attended.
I tried a few different things ; a friend lent me his strobe + umbrella for a couple of minishoots :

Also, as usual, tried to do some stage pictures, and failed miserably, except for this one :

Most of the time, trying to work with available light. There wasn't plenty of it, so I had to work at high ISO, but it was actually nicer than at most cons I've attended, and I had white walls.
