I wonder, is this a triptych in the true sense of the word? It looks like you took a panoramic shot and laid a three section 75% opaque frame over it. Nice dreamy scene nevertheless.

Hmmm, I dunno really. I looked up "Triptych" and got the definition of "a work of art in three panels". More usual is a larger middle panel, but 3 equal panels are sometimes seen.

The pictures I saw of triptychs DID show 3 separate scenes, but it nowhere said that 3 parts of the same scene couldn't be a triptych.

Anyhow, does a rose by any other name not smell as sweet? ;)

Incidentally, it's 3 parts laid on a gaussian blurred and reduced exposure copy of the original scene. The three parts are pretty much SOOC...the misty dreaminesss is what attracted me to take the shots (it's part of a 8 shot pano)

Thanks for the critique. :D

Personally, I think it's fine without the grid in this form. I think if you were to do a print though, it would look better in three separate pieces. Just here the image can be seen through the thick lines...and they're thick.

Nice image, btw. I might try and see if it can be made any crisper with some sharpening--not much though.

Thanks. The image is not seen through the lines, the lines are a layer with a lower exposure and blurred copy of the original pano.

If printed, as 3 canvases, for example, it would be 3 separate images, for sure.

Cheers

Call it what you like, I think its beautiful, simular to what I see on the broads on my ride to work some mornings. Will stop one day and get an image, with the mist swirling and the sun coming up over the broads.
A+++

There ain't gonna be enough time to capture all the beautiful thing in the world, but I'm getting them one by one...

Thank you :D

I have seen these scenes a few times, but never have the gear in the car. This morning I went for a woodland walk at 6.30, before work, looking for bugs! I saw this afterwards on the way to work.

Glad you like it.

This is really nice! I would just go ahead and remove the opacity from the frame, though. Really pretty scene!

I like it. You might try the border 100% opaque and truly make it 3 individual images, and use a real matte as the border. The image is good, let your mind fill in the borders.

Would look really nice with each panel printed LARGE.

As a collective works very well but a little weak for individual shot cinsideration.

Thanks Kurt and Scott. Might have a look at printing this. Will also look at the suggestion to make the matte totally black.

Corkney fonz - it is meant to be considered as one collection of three images making the whole - I don't quite get your point. Could you explain what you mean.

Thanks all.
