A buddy took me to a park the other day which has a section reserved for retired farm equipment, machinery and even buildings.

Interesting set - the skies are a mess with banding and color shifts and all sorts of weird artifacts.

#1 - there is a flat gray pall over most of the sky
#2 - there is a magenta-ish stripe that courses from upper left to lower right, right above the roof line, with the lowest portion of the sky right above the trees, at the corner of the eave of the roof, a flat gray.
#3 - there is a pink and green ring around what is probably the setting sun.
#5 - there is a strange pink flare in the upper right of the frame and it appears that there were some slight clouds in the sky that got crushed flat and tinted pink.

Also, all of your images have a ProPhoto RBG profile embedded in them - it is probably best to embed an sRGB profile, otherwise your images may appear completely different than you expect in some web browsers.

Guys, thanks for the feedback.

Kirk, I agree with each of your comments. The sun was setting in all but the last one, which for some reason gave me quite a challenge. I could not remove the artifacts you mentioned during the processing and minimised it the best I could. I thought about replacing the sky, but in the end decided that they weren't that big of an issue.

The last one was taken in the last moments of the setting sun. There were no clouds. The pink that you see is a slight flare from a steet light, which again, I chose to leave in.

Thanks for the heads up on the color format.

I've reprocessed each of the shots Kirk commented on, in an effort to fix the artifacts. Some are improved, some not, though I feel these are better overall due to a few processing tricks Gene (NavyDoc) told me about since my original submittal. The artifacts are in the original HDR processing before it reaches Photomatix. I'm not sure what they could be. We have had some fires in the area recently and it may be that some of the smoke is linguring. In anycase, here's the replacements.

And another which I reprocessed as well, though not part of the original post.

Well, I still like them but in the first image of your second edit, it looks like a ghost image of the strut and wires on the left can be seen. On the fourth image, the sky seems a bit too dark to me. It blends with the dark blue in the building.
