Travelling anywhere that is a fair distance away right now is expensive for me. The trip we are taking to Mexico in January for my brothers wedding will be my first big vacation/trip since we went to Maui in 2005 for my sister-inlaws wedding.....Didn't want to leave Maui, even after my camera gear was stolen (along with 800 photos on CD's). On that note though, we are planning on going back to maui for our 10th anniversary in 2014.....YIPPEE!!

I am really paranoid regarding my camera gear right now, I was so paranoid that I brought all of it in the mall yesterday as I don't want to leave my gear behind as I have read a lot of break ins right now... I looked like a dork/noob carrying a camera into the mall...but I know its safer than leaving it in the car.

It was partly my fault for not trying to hide my photo backpack. But who knows, that may not of even mattered.....It was a quick snatch and grab the person did while I was in the camera store droping off a mem card to put on CD. Lesson learned I suppose.

As for Maui? If you ever go, you will love the place! Lots of places to see, things to do. Very friendly people there too I found. Prices there aren't to bad either. I think our entire trip (10 days) cost us a total of $6000.00 CAN, and that was with some splurging on some stuff. Plan on going for 2 weeks next time.

yeah I think so, my GF's aunt is in Waikiki I think, unfortunately I don't have a US visa..so i can't really go there. and from the looks of it, US is not issuing any form of Visa to Filipino Citizens...

I went to Sydney Australia last year, and I really liked it there..I feel like I could live there for the rest of my life..very laid back and very picturesque... but very very very expensive

anyway, when in public places, I try not to let go of my camera back, most of the time it is slung on my back or shoulder...rarely do I put it down, its just too valuable to me. and I don't think I will be able to buy another set up like this in the near future if eve I lose all of them.

you know my whole gear is worth my 1 year basic salary... so its really not possible for me to buy another if Its taken away from me.
