you can see Roger and Wayne talking like senior citizens...I can feel it the way they express their thoughts, and I know Luminodio is quite young that's why I can't understand why he talks like that... Initially I thought Teej is from some other place that talks weird like Alabama or something... hehe sorry I'm a bit unfamiliar with the US.

Yup in the bit of research i have done in know the round ones arent the best. Its tough for me to invest in the square type knowing i dont shoot landscapes enough to justify them. All though i do love landscape shooting. Round GND filters which can be spun in the direction you want to apply the effect do seem to be ok. I just dont know what to get.

Yup steven im off today. A rainy day would have gone out shooting for a bit. Oh well Ill try to get some shots when the rain stops of the wet city.

Wassup guys! The thread slowed down Friday and Saturday. It's Sunday night and you have it in overdrive, lol!

I won't be able to keep up. I came home from the OC Japan Fair today with 777 photos (RAW) worth 17.6GB.
And before I even touch them, I have to finish up my pics form the Boston trip (yeah, I'm lagging!) and my friend's birthday.

I'll dedicate a bit more time to process photos this week and a little less time being silly in here.

haha I know what you mean Alex, I have photos going back a few months that I still need to go through!!!

At Adorama we do appreciate that our closing times can be inconvenient to some of our potential customers.
Adorama's owner is an observant orthodox Jewish gentleman, whose beliefs prohibit him - his family and his business - from operating on the Sabbath and on many of the religious holidays (which all begin an hour prior to sunset the evening before the day of the holiday, which is why we close early on Fridays).

We can't employ non-Jews here during those days, because to do so would involve the company conducting business - which is forbidden in Jewish Law.

Most holidays are actually only one or two days; two are week-long holidays. We do try to minimize inconvenience to our customers, by publicizing our closing dates well in advance.
After the holiday(s) end(s), we do reopen our sales and shipping departments as soon as possible in order to deal with the inevitable backlog of orders.
We would also take on add additional staff in the customer service, sales and shipping departments if necessary to help reduce backlogs and speed up the service to our customers.

In this era of 24-hour commerce which seems to take for granted that we all sleep with our i-phones under our pillows and work a relentless 60 or 70 hours a week, this is a special time for us to be with family and friends.
I guess it's unusual to find that there really are still people who consider their spiritual duty to be more important than making an honest buck out of our customers at every opportunity. I receive frequent emails from customers who state that in this day and age it is comforting to know there are people around who do not place money before all else.

Many businesses in the US and elsewhere in the world force employees to work on holidays when the time is better spent with their friends and families - or just relaxing by themselves

We are grateful for the understanding of our customers that this is an important element of our owner's value system. Perhaps the following links to articles in the Washington Post & the New York Times will help to make some sense of our closure policies:

Thanks for taking the time but honestly, IMO, the very last thing you should feel you have to do is explain any policy as it relates to Orthodox Judaism and the major NY e-tailers.

Most here are very familiar with the traditional closing periods and the few that aren't (and who make it painfully and excrutiatingly obvious) will just have to deal with it.

Does anyone have tips for creating a watermark for photos? I'm thinking the likes of Adrian's and Omar's. I will most likely create a DNG with transparent background in PS, and use it with the LR watermark feature when exporting. But I'm clueless as to anything else, such as what size to create the watermark, for example, so that it will look consistant and sharp and clear regardless of the final photo size (e.g. might vary due to cropping?). Any tips would be welcome.

Well I made an action in PS when I was still watermarking Images, it had issues with portrait images as it would place it halfway in the image, but I think I've found a way to solve that issue. Now I just need a nicer looking Watermark......but before all that I need to make images worth stealing

to elaborate some more, my action was something on the lines of importing another image placing it in the corner, set edge highlight and save.

.PNG is a better format for watermarks as this will preserve any transparency...
