Ive tried both and the d3s is what calls me. Although a d700s or d800/w/e they want to call it will be a very compelling alternative.

What exactly does the d3s do that the d700 doesn't for you?

It can do that thin, he just can't use f/2.0-4.0 because it has focus shifting :X

hahahaa exactly, sooner or later if Canon doesn't make a move and stick to their aging lens line up, all you Canon boys will be drooling over all the new Nikkor lenses... ;)

only a noink would buy a camera hoping they would build a lens for it

some of canons lenses have been around for a long time and MIGHT need upgrading

to a version 2 , many of your lenses are only just available now

the 50mm f/1.2 has focus shift? you mean to say the focus point moves as the lens tries to focus?

many Canon lenses definitely needs upgrading :D and everytime they upgrade, they are catching up with Nikon lens prices hehe

Martin, to be honest I could switch/use/go either way... Canon or Nikon, I don't have anything against each other. :D

I am currently in the process of getting a 35mm f/2D and selling my 50mm f/1.4D. I think these old prime lenses are still good. just like most Canon primes that are more than 20years old.

What exactly does the d3s do that the d700 doesn't for you?

The high iso performance of the d3s is amazing. Nikon has that nailed. I had 12 MP on my xsi and always felt that was the sweet spot. Nothing against the d700 because it produces great images as well at a fraction of the price. I also love the full body of the d3s it just feels better than a 1dsIII. I could add a grip to the d700 but i rather have it built in. D3s also has video which i use for family stuff. Some may scuff at that and say get a dedicated video camera. But again i like it built in. I never knew how much fun the small clips off these great lens's would be. Now that i have experienced it. Its tough for me to give up.
