Well, I'm outta here. Time to get some sleep before my last graveyard shift. Two days off after that. :)

I'm fretting i just made a mistake thats going to cost me $100 in a restocking fee...

I think maybe i shouldnt have tried replacing my 100-400 at all

You know the idea was, i trade my 100-400 for the 150-500 and get a 50mm f/1.4 to go with...be very little out of pocket expense on my part..but now im seeing this might not have been the greatest idea

I think for all my likes about the Sigma, its just not going to override the fact that my 100-400 is just better, More consistent optically and probubly a bit sharper...

Based on what I have seen in the samples here, I'm staying away from the 120-400 and 150-500. They might hold up optically well on a 5Dc, but most modern croppers seem to test the limits of the glass. On the other hand, I returned 2 dust-pumps due to very soft images at 400mm on my old 30D. I have yet to see a mythically-sharp dust-pump, though I've seen image samples that speak of their existence.

So...what color is it now, if not as shown in your avatar??

it's lighter now. a dark brown. it was almost black in that picture.

no, you can't move 3 shades lighter without stripping the colour from your hair (bleaching). it would be like trying to paint yellow over black walls. just doesn't work.

My dust pump seems to be really sharp, I do have a lot of bad images from it sure, i have a lot i threw out cause they were as bad as the ones above..

Maybe whats bugging me is i think i might have gotten a keeper or two from my 100-400

haha yes, trust me, hair colouring (in the salon) is extremely complicated. it involves weighing amounts of colour vs developing solution vs natural colour vs any dyed hair.

it's actually quite mathematical and precise. down to the milligram.
