Oh Lordy! What an opening!

As though this nonsense had any practical value....

nonsense with practical value would be nonsense, to suggest such is nonsensical. even though nonsense does not have practical value, it is a practical practice as a method of stress release and raising ones post count. although at this point even though it may be practical to go on what it may become would be nonsense, so for now I shall leave this practically nonsense statement rest and do some practical work which may in-turn be nonsense with my current state of mind :p

really? I did not know that, why can't you patent such an invention should it be physically possible?

Because it violates the laws of physics. Perpetual motion is impossible on its face, and you cannot patent the impossible.

Think on it. Motion creates friction—however little. Friction creates heat—however little. Heat produces entropy—however little. Entropy always increases—however little. I.e., any process involving motion cannot be perpetual; it must eventually cease—however long it may take.

ah okay, I was thinking should someone somehow defy the laws of physics and does invent such a contraption it still would not be patentable (not sure if this is a word)

I understand from and engineering standpoint and physics standpoint that such a device is not possible but I took the statement that prepertual motion devices can't be patented to litrally

Hehe! I had to use the bathroom. :p

When I was younger, an "all nighter" was partying or studying all night.

Now, an "all nighter" is being able to sleep all night without having to get up to pee.
