Hi guys and gals!

This was my first time taking maternity photos and actually my first photoshoot.

She's a friend of mine with no modeling experience, I didn't charge her anything because being my first time I believe experience is more important than money... at least for now :)

All natural light and processed in Lightroom.

Please let me know what you all think and what can I do to improve.

Thanks for looking!

Nice set overall. The last is my favorite.

The first one is a great pose and capture, but the hot spots on her thigh and belly are a bit blown and the shadows on her face a distracting.

The second was so close to being great, but the straight arm hurts it. Still, I'd crop this shot in a little from the top left to get her more to the left of the image. The lighting and processing on this shot work really well.

I'm not a fan of the wide angle and perspective on 3.

Thank you for the comment!!!

I didn't realize in #2 the arm being so straight... I have to pay more attention to those details! Great advice!!!!!
I've notice the hot spots in #1... I tried to fix it but somehow it doesn't turn out well.

Nice set. IMO #2 and #3 has a little too much DOF, my eyes keep on trying to get deeper into the picture almost missing the main subject. I like the PP on #5.

Very nice job. I have done a LOT of maternity work, and my opinion is that creative use of light is key. Maternity photos are very emotional, and good use of light evokes that. Of course posing and composition are also very important, but remember that your job is to capture the EMOTION of that moment. You definitely need either a reflector or off camera light to really pull that off. Keep practicing, try to light from the sides, and work with creating nice shadows showing off the pregnant form.
