Tone Mapped Twice?

Do any of you guys ever tone map twice? I recently started using Photomatix and am trying to figure out the best way to get the results I want with it along with CS5.

This shot was tone mapped twice in Photomatix and finished off in CS5. I have heard about people creating the HDR image in CS5 then just tone mapping in Photomatix...I think I'm going to give that a try.

I'm not really into the bright orange of the fountain, but the buildings look amazing.

Not a huge fan of the double tone mapping.. especially the orange.

Yea, the orange in that shot was pretty strong.I tried the two tone mapping again with the shot below...I tried to pull the colors back a little so they weren't so vibrant. Thoughts?

Exactly. Try another go at this one focusing your processing just on the sky and then merge the two.
