I'm not a big fan of looking down at a model, it's usually not flattering, and is very un-empowering for the model.

I like the second one much better than the first, but I think the lighting is a touch flat. A little hair light or kicker coming from the left would have really made her pop. Also be mindful of your background, the wrinkly sheets don't look good, and I they don't seem to be very relevant to the model, so I would 86 them.

That being said, I like the concept of this shoot, and I love the make-up and the wardrobe. I wish the cards were doing more. Maybe you could combine elements of both images in a re-shoot, and have the cards flying through the air as a background. This has a sort of Alice in Wonderland feel to me, but the setting does not match that at all. If you can find a way to make this image more surreal, it would be more successful.

You are on to something, I think you should give it another shot, but with more conceptualizing and planning! Try to focus on the bigger picture, not the PP or one eye losing white (no offense Flo).

The technical work with your camera is spot on. The pics are crisp and focused well, the lighting is good but could be more dynamic to really bring the pics alive. All in all the great shots. Watch your angles and framing a little.

Hmmm...maybe a re-shoot would do some good...funny thing is, we did try and get the cards in the air. It was the last shots and getting really late and the failed attempts were just frustrating. I was grouchy.

I really see what you're saying now that you mention it. Thanks!

Oh you did try to get them in the air? The few photos I've taken that have objects floating, have all been hung with fishing line. It's a pain, and sometimes things are un-naturally vertical, but at least you know where they'll be.

You also don't want your model to resent you for extending the shoot too long...especially when it's your fiance!

Yeah we tried dropping them from above, "flicking" them from the sides, BOTH, and just couldn't get em right. We DO have tons of fishing line around though. At the time we were in my back yard so hanging them would have been difficult. Maybe the car port next time should allow me to hang them though.

As for the Model resenting me, The M/U artist took 3 1/2 hours! If she didn't mind sitting through that, she won't have a problem with me taking some time!

Besides, in less than 2 weeks she'll be stuck with me anyways. ;)
