No it will give you a 50mm FOV in terms of FF on your xsi which is considered a standard/normal FOV

Then the Canon 28mm 1.8 would be the same effect technically even though it's a "wide angle?"

I just looked this one up..you got me drooling now. LOL

I keep talking myself out of the 24L II. At 1/4 the price, the Sigma holds its own very well. And as this is a hobby for me, I can't justify the other 3/4.

I debated the 28 and the 30 for a long time. I'm very happy with my Sigma, but I never had to send it in.

The 28 1.8 works on full frame cameras as well, and it would be a wide angle lens on a FF camera. Personally I would go for the Sigma 30, it was made for crop bodies and will really complement the Sig 50 (which is an amazing lens, good choice there.)

Is it a hit or miss kinda thing with Sigma to have no issues with the lens?

Thanks! I feel like I was choosing the right thing because I'm really not going to upgrade my camera body so I wanna aim towards more crop body lenses vs. FF because I wanna be able to use it for it's worth.

There are a lot of reports of focusing issues with Sigma lenses. But seems to be just as many with no problems. Just get the lens and use it and if you have problems, you send it to Sigma and it sounds like they usually make it right. The same is true of the Sigma 50.
