Members on this Forum have been very helpful and supportive to me ever since I was on the sx110 thread, then the sx10, the 450D, the 50D, this 60D thread, and questions I've posed on numerous others. I`m grateful so when I can help - I'm glad to.

Congrats man - how does the rubberish grip feel - similar to the 60D body?

keep us in the loop in all regards - if something wears out prematurely - you'd be doing us a favour reporting it.

cheers ~

To me the rubber grip looks and feels the same, I'll let you know if anything wears out, but I hope it doesn't! :)

I'm waiting on my Meike grip, but if you tried it with your original battery... does that mean it will work if you only put one battery in it? Or do you own 2 Canon batteries?

I'm a little worried because I only own one original Canon battery and one off brand (Delkin) and I wonder if it's a good idea to use them both at the same time with the grip.

I only had one battery in it and it worked fine, not sure if it matters which end of the tray you put it in. It also comes with a tray that holds 6 AA's which would come in nice if I didn't have time to charge a battery or were away from a power source... just going to have to start keeping spare batteries in my bag :)

I'm curious as well. I'll be using 1x canon battery and 1x opteka battery.
Ugh,.. ordered last Thursday and it's still not shipped yet. Hopefully I'll get it sometime this week.

I have 2 Phottix batteries on the way, probably going to put those together in the grip and leave the Canon battery for when I go without... not planning on leaving the grip on all the time, at least until I get a bigger bag.

The Phottix are taking a long time to get here - last time I check is not going to be here until Feb. 4th - 8th - Probably has to do with the Chinese new year celebration.

As long as they get here by End of April, gotta shoot a wedding and $16 a battery is a heck of a lot better than $100, lol.

On another note, I was looking at those Pixel "Knight" radio triggers and they list off compatability with all EOS cams except 60D. I asked an EBay seller if they work together and he sad no. Has anybody here tried them? I'm looking for the cheapest triggers that will do E-TTL, so far it seems like PocketWizard and Radio Popper are the only choices for that. The Vivitar 285/Cybersync route is sounding a lot more reasonable about now :)

Take a look at LinkDelight.com... I was thinking the same thing and ran into that site the other day.

I suspect it is the same card Rivest is using.

It's the one I have and it works well.

Jon...

Yes it is!

Thanks just curious because you said you get 16 continuous shots in RAW. I currently have the class 6 version and get about 18-19 continuous. Im going to be getting another card soon so I was wondering if the extra for the class 10 would be worth it.

No, just a UV filter on my 24-105 f/4 L

matthew.saji wrote in post #11706288 (external link)
Just got my 24-105 last week and it paired quite well with my 60D. By far the best lens I have thus far since moving over to Canon.

How are you guys enjoying your 24-105L lens? I can only take reading so many threads with non crop body owners bashing anyone using one wanting to purchase this or the 24-70. :D I would like first hand accounts of what you like and don't like direct from owners of our cameras. I don't believe the one stop extra aperture would benefit me as much as the extra reach over the 17-55. IS will help, as I like natural light in the house and low light as much as the next guy, and I shoot NO landscape whatsoever. I am using my camera mostly for general walkabout, indoors with my 430EXII, as I like the look of controlled bounce flash, and general photography of our baby due to be born June 2nd. I figure I have the 50mm 1.8 for good low light and great DOF for soft pics of the baby and I may also look into teaming the 24-105 with the 24 or 28 2.8 if I need better DOF and the 50 becomes to tight in certain situations. Has anyone else taken this approach? Sorry for such a long post but I'm going mad researching this so much.

Wasteland. The arctic landscape is a lot like the desert.
