I seem to have a bit of fine dust on the inside glass bit of the camera...the bit that has the 9 focus squares...is that easy to fix?

Other than that, don't know if that is a big deal, I love the 60D.

I've had it about 3 weeks

I have that 18-135 lens...I like it...I wouldn't really know any better though. Seems versatile.

I have that lens, and truthfully, comparing it to the 28-135 USM, no contest, the USM is the nicer of the two. With the 18-55 and it's close focussing ability on the low range, I tend to gravitate toward trading off the 18-135 to upgrade to something else.

Hardcore, by looking at your gear, you seam to be getting more and more into studio/portrait photography.

Am I right? Also, waiting on this photoshoot results ;)

Ya, I am looking to get more into portraits. It really is the only sort of photography around where I live that I can make any sort of money from.

I have 400 pictures to wade through. Not much retouching needed by looking at them quickly. Will post some pictures tomorrow.

How are you liking your 5d?

Can anyone help with my 60D? I've had it about 3 weeks and when I take the lens off there seems to be some tiny dust specs on the surface of the component inside that has the 9 focus squares on it.

What's the best way to clean this? Because I can see the blurry specs through the viewfinder.

thanks

EDIT: Nevermind. I just read about 4000 threads on similar topics...I get the idea

Does anyone know what's the cheapest deal on a Canon 60D new? I'm thinking B&H Photo or Amazon right now. I just wanna find it ...so itching to hit buy now!

Amazon's been dropping the price from $999, to $979, to $929, $899, & now $888 over the past 2 weeks. don't know how much lower they will go.

Yesterday my "sixty" passed the snow crush-test. About ten seconds in snowdrift (i slipped on ice, lol) and two hours shooting while snowing and it's ok. Some photos (sorry if it's too much):

If you like the focal length - its a good starter lens, read up in reviews where its weaknesses are so you can compensate by pinching the aperture where needed.

Consider the 15-85mm IS - I love it, great sharpness.

Cheers,

Good for your concerning your studio photography. I'm also starting up in studio equipment. I might go and grab a backdrop holding system and a roll of seamless thunder gray paper.

I'm pretty much solid on white seamless, I want to try something new :)

This member below has a pretty neat set-up if you have the space. Since you are equipped with white you might fine his technique pretty good.

^ Nice setup for the seamless, but I just don't have the space for lights behind the paper.

He he, same here. Living room isn't big enough to permit that ;)

Hardcore, I got the idea of grey seamless from this guy here : https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=999479

I'll also buy some gel for my flash ;)

Thanks for that link David. I think I will pick up some grey paper as well! Those are some really nice shots!

Also, see if you can pick up a rosco sample gel book. They are pretty much free and you can slap them over a speedlight! I think they are $2 through b+h!

P.S. Pictures from my shoot yesterday are uploading as we speak.
