Thanks you guys! The 18-135 is sweet! I'm renting a 100mm macro next week. I hope I like it

Also that dog chasing bird pic is incredible!

Let me guess - the hawk was waiting to make the bunny his lunch? :)

Oddly enough - the other way around! (remember Monty Python's Holy Grail?) That is why the Hawk was perched up in a tree - relatively safe... ;)

Happened to me when I forgot to change the color profile in photoshop!

And that hawk, I one day was outside with a friend, and for the first time ever saw one of these things in a tree... At least it looked a lot like this fella. If there were anything other than seagulls in Brooklyn maybe I would be able to ID it, but I'm still somewhere between it was an owl or hawk haha. It was mid day, so maybe the latter. Poor fella probably escaped from somewhere, in 13 years it's the only normal bird I've seen here (well almost the only), let it be known I was shocked!

Just a thought... Its possible you need to delete your Color management profile (corrupted) associated with your monitor and reboot - which will create a new one. Found in advanced properties of your Display settings - Color management. I had odd colors showing in Firefox & Windows Photo Viewer but very good everywhere else including Chrome. I deleted as per above and then I could see the same colors in every application.

Your photo looks good to me - good clarity and contrast & clean colors...

Some shots from today

Number 3,5, and 7 for me -I want a background on some, and am distracted by it in others.

Good work!

Just bought a cheapo FD macro 50/3.5 lens with the 25 mm tube. (Why not go manual if you're in macro and have to selectively focus anyway?) Maybe I'll start posting some macro pics! Of course here, it would just be snow...

.what would you people recommend for taking street shots of people:

1. Evaluative metering
2. Partial metering
3. Spot metering
4. Center-weighted average metering

I know conditions can vary day to day in terms of light. I know that different people may aim for different creative ways of lighting their street shots in the day...but of the above 4 metering options, which would you choose to give you (here's a loaded word I guess) 'good' exposure results?

thanks
