Doesn't take long to add up. I tell you the Visa company is sure happy. My next engine build is going to cost almost $2500 for just the rods and pistons. lol Depressing just thinking about it. One day I'll dig in to the new project.

Spent the day out shooting today, weather was nice, sunlight was a bit harsh, but the new CPL works nice.

That must be the reason why your gear is pretty limited :p ;) :)

Here is a couple of my first attempts at digital photography. I enjoy hiking and nature, so am interested in macro photography. These two shots are from my first try with an EF 100 f/2.8 Macro lens. I would have preferred the insect to have turned around, but he/she wasn't cooperating! Comments and suggestions are welcome as I am a complete newcomer to DSLRs.

I'm scared to list what I dumped on my car and I bought it new...$28k out the door + the modding began..ughhh. @_@

Tell me about it. I paid close to that for mine, and I've got 10 grand on top of that in it, with another 10 to go. My wife just shakes her head (she has a Masters in finance, and doesn't get "hobbies").

Well, just a quick test on my messy desk at work with the Tokina 11-16 and my 430 EX II bouncing off the ceiling. It seems to back focus just a tiny bit, but I'm not sure if it's enough to bother me, it will take more testing to know for sure.

Man, your wife needs to talk to my wife ;)

Ha Ha just saw this comment and the others. My wife does not work as I am old fashioned (even for being so young) and feel that I should support my wife. Trust me its eye for an eye at my house. You should see her Tiffany's and Pandora jewelry collection. Her assortment of Prada, Coah and LV bags... My car builds actually rarely cost me anything out of pocket. I am able to usually resell them for a large amount of my build cost. I do most of my own labor as therapy LOL. My paint and body is sponsored, and my tires are free. LOL...

My previous builds in the last 4 years.

05 350z twin Turbo
06 C6 Zo6 - cammed and N20
4x 240sx with over 500whp or over 800whp depending on fuel, turbo and boost level

Heck I built my wife a Skyline Swapped 240sx Convertible recently. Put 8k in the build and sold her for 14k.

I'm new to DSLR photography and have been playing with my 60D for about a month now. I'm fairly comfortable with camera controls and the basics of exposure. I'm ready to buy a flash and have been debating between the the 430 and 580 and currently leaning toward the 580. The question I have though is I see people on this forum talking about buying wireless triggers for their flash. I'm confused because I thought that ability was built into the camera. Is their an advantage to using a trigger over the build in wireless?
