I was sitting out on the patio Sunday morning and my buddy "Riley the Wonder Dog" came out to keep me company. We got him from a rescue when he was a pup and they said he'd be around 45 pounds. They were off by...well, almost a 100 pounds! I just laughed when my wife told me what they said.

Best guess is he's part Leonberger and...??!

Guyz,
I shoot one of my colleague at work's dog, printed it at costco and give it to her for free. Her daughter noticed it and asked how much should i charge her for a photo session. I HAVE NO IDEA. This will be my first ever paid photoshoot. I guess this is gonna be my break.

Can you guyz give me ideas how much and how are you charging your clients? I'm in northern california.

is it by the hour? or by the images they like?

thanks.... pls. help i need to call the client for the price.

welcome to all the 60d shooters. as first dslr its more than enough to grow with. trust me you can go from newb all the way to pro with this body with the right combination of lenses, lighting and knowledge ofcourse.

shooting for an hour is one thing.... then there is the sorting and choosing and editing, etc, etc that takes all the time. for me, anyways...
maybe consider giving a price for the shoot - and 2 retouched 8x10 jpeg files and a price for a collection (2 8x10 with 5x7, smaller) and then a price if she "also" wants a CD of 15 jpegs or so, you choose how much editing you wish to do on them. Just my thoughts...
