Have you considered the EF-S 17-55 f/2.8? It's a fantastic lens, I was looking into nabbing one of them down the road for my 60D. You'll lose 56-69mm with your current setup, but I would think that it wouldn't be too big of an issue.

Don't forget the Tammy 17-50 f/2.8 too. It costs significantly less than the 17-55 and also produces some great pictures.

I guess I could share some photography from my day job. I design t-shirts and run the web site etc. for BoneHead Outfitters, one of the brands that we produce. Here's a shot from today...

It's kind of interesting to me to click through some of the old images on our site because I started out using an old Olympus, then a Rebel XT, then I can see when I picked up a Nifty, then some the newest shots are with my 60D. The 60D is my personal camera, but I just like shooting with it so much more than the old Rebel XT that I bring it to work half the time, lol.

Nice job on the designs and seeing yourself progress.

+1+1

You need to realisticly price your self within other photographers pricing. But also family favors are just that family favors. In my experience portrait sessions sell best in packages as does most portfolio work. My simple packages start at 200.00 and go way up from there. My hourly rates start at 100.00 per hour depending in needs.

2 hour portrait/portfolio shoot - 200.00
-2 looks
-3 edits per look and 30.00 for each additional edit
-makeup artist is an extra 50.00 and up
-prints in 20 x 30 start at 60.00

I also have atleast one 20 x 30 print from each shoot personally printed and they are displayed in my office for clients to GAWK at. It provides value to see work in large format. Heres a little secret... Check out how much Sams Club charges for a 20 x 30 print. Hint- under 10.00 on fuji paper.... Easy money guys.....

thanks for the info Sui...

LOL everytime some one talks about an Olympus Camera I laugh my butt off and think of the F Stoppers Iphone Fashion shoot. He says "Today were going to shoot with the worst possible camera, so today were going to shoot with any Olympus DSLR" LOLOLOL

Search for it on youtube if you';ve never seen it before...

I'd wreck every car if I tried that, think I'll stick to shooting nature. Nice video though.
