Johan, I'd love to be a fly on your tripod for a month.

You have some incredible captures and the PP is spot on as well.

Please let me know if you decide to post in the "Before and After" thread in the Raw post processing section.

Glad you enjoy the photos. The 60D and Canon 10-22 are a perfect landscape combo. It's a shame so many people don't realize what the articulating screen can do for these types of shots. Even though it is the best thing ever for it, we will probably never see it on a full frame body. I would love to have a FF and 16-35 2.8 for night shots, as the extra light gathering makes a difference in the dark.

Most of my photos are straight out of the camera, technically. I use the in-camera RAW converter a lot. Usually does everything I need it to, and I also go though shots on my 60D when out in the field but waiting for something. It helps pass the time.

I was just trying to shot the poles in the water. My lens did not have enough reach to get a good shot on the birds (at that distance I would need something between 400 to 600 mm).
I did some cropping in one of the pictures of the series, maybe it can help you to identify what kind of bird they are (sorry my bird knowledge is very limited). Sorry for the bad quality of the pictures....

Top should be a Cormorant. Looks like a Great Cormorant. Bottom should be some sort of Tern. Looks a lot like an Arctic Tern, but not sure on that, Terns aren't a specialty.

I have noticed when taking pictures or filming outdoors during the day, Leaves on trees tend to have a glow to them. Is there a lens filter I could use that would give me better results?

Any suggestions on besides a f-stop of f/22 when filming landscapes?

Thanks

Yesterday I took my new 60D out to a local park, first time since I bought it, using the same Sigma 17-70 OS that used to be attached to an XSi. Boy, what a difference between these two cameras! Beautiful colors, very sharp pictures. Now I just have to share how happy I am with the new purchase!

Example pics would be great.

If you don't want to use a small f-stop you'll need a neutral density (ND) filter. It's like sunglasses for your lens - just lowers the light entering the lens without adding any tint to it. Either that or just make your shutter time even faster, you can go up to 1:8000 of a second on the 60D. However if you want flowy water or whatever you'll need an ND filter as you need to keep the shutter open.

I would ask this question over in the lens area, but think you guys will be able to give me more accurate feedback since I post most of my photos here. I would like to upgrade to a 70-200L, but not sure what one. I want sharper images and can't do the 2.8IS right now so based off of the pics you see from me should I look at a 2.8 non IS or a F4 with IS?

Since they are so close in price, I am personally saving up for the newer 70-300L, over the 70-200 f4 IS

This one?

The only slight bummers are the lack of constant aperture and no TC support.. but you gain another 100mm in reach. I may have to look into that one when/if I decide to really start upgrading lenses.

Basically that comes down to the type of pics you are taking. You will lose one stop of aperture, but gain the ~3 stop IS. Is camera shake your only worry? If you need to freeze action then better aperture is important...but if not, and you instead want to be able to hand-hold the lens with slower shutter times, then the IS is a must. Personally I like IS so much I'd look at the f/4 with IS.
