Is the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II that much better then the older EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS? Is it worth the extra $$$ on the newer lens?

But ask yourself the following. Is it worth the premium to you? To me it wasn't. Not at this current time, maybe in the future it will be. But not for now. And so, I keep going on being happy with my mark 1! ^This. 5DmkII | 24-70 f/2.8L II | Pentax 645Z | 55/2.8 SDM | 120/4 Macro | 150/2.8 IF

Sep 24, 2010 11:48 | #12 I never had a problem with my original between 70 and 200mm and even was very happy with its performance with a 1.4 teleconverter - and I honestly think that for most people the quality is still there with that lens to make it worth owning. Tools of the trade: Canon 400D, Canon 7D, Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS L M2, Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 OS, Canon MPE 65mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro, Tamron 24-70mm f2.4, Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 8-16mm f4.5-5.6, Raynox DCR 250, loads of teleconverters and a flashy thingy too
