After posting last Friday's attempt at flashing football for the first time, I got a lot of great feedback and suggestions for how to improve. I took this to an evening practice and felt like I got more consistent shots, but I still have a long ways to go.

#1 I started by zoomin out to see where my flash was hitting. I am using a 580EXII zoomed to 105mm. 1/250, f/4, iso 800, ETTL +1

#8 I tried the flash below the camera while the team was having a meeting. I didn't like the large shadows this gave off. 1/250, f/4, iso 800, ETTL +2/3

It seems as though the only shots I uploaded to flickr were w/ flash in ETTL +1. I tried to pick the shots that looked best even though I tried the flash in Manual w/ 1/4 to 1/2 power and different FEC's in ETTL.

As before any help is much appreciated. I know it is about practice, but I like to hear the critique and suggestions from those of you who have mastered using flash.

I think they look well lighted, but it appears you might want to see about micro adjusting your lens as it appears to be front focusing a bit.
