I'd prefer a different zoom line, for fewer lens changes. The ones you list are fine, but I might simply eliminate the 50mm and go with something like the Tamron 28-75mm or Canon 24-105mm. But then again, I don't "shoot to satisfy myself (with tissue thin DOF), but I shoot to satisfy my client (with greater DOF than provided by f/2.8 )"

Again your experience I must say is valuable. Wow, fewer lens changes (and therefore less chances of missing a shot and less dust etc)!!

Also, the price of Canon 24-105 is approx the same as 50mm + 70-200mm.

What I lose though is the telephoto range... food for thought again. With Fall just round the corner, I think I might need it!
