I'm going on a trip and I would want a inconspicuous bag to carry a 5D (without grip), 17-40L, 50/1.4, 85/1.8 and a 430EX. Is there anyway I could fit all this in a Lowepro Classified 140. I like the look of the bag and feel the Classified 160 is too big for what I want.

I think it will be tight, at best. I had the 140, and even will all the dividers removed, the best I could do was a 40D with 24-70 attached, plus an extra 17-40 lens. Others may be more efficient packers than me, though! :)

Yeah, I was afraid so... I was thinking that if you put the 50/1.4 and 85/1.8 on top each other, they are about the size of one lens. Is there anyway the 430EX would fit in the front pocket of the bag?

I can only get my 5D2 with 24-105 attached and a 580 speedlite in mine, as below.

I think I saw it in a local store... better go and try it out... else I just might have to rethink my choice of gear. Going to Athens, Greece, so I thought that would have been a pretty nice combo. But Athens isn't really a city where you want to flaunt to much expensive gear, therefor I thought the low profile bag would be perfect.

I would also get a steel cable camera strap such as the PacSafe 100 or the Citystrap.

Well, I went to the store with the equipment I talked about, and I was able to fit it in the bag, so I bought it.

If I want to keep it slim I put the 5D with the 17-40L mounted on one side, a divider in between and the 85/1.8 with hood reversed below and 50/1.4 with hood on top. It's a little tight, and you have to be a bit careful when taking stuff out, but I think it will work.

I can fit the 430EX (without it's pouch) and the hood for the 17-40L in the front pockets, however, then the bag is far from "slim" :)

Thanks for the input! :)

Thanks for the tip, I have to look into that.

You might also look at the Carrysafe 200, which is the same kind of steel cable strap to replace the OEM one on the 140. I have that strap on all my shoulder bags. For $20, it's a good investment to protect your equipment.

They're on the same site above.

The bag will likely loosen up a bit after some use . I've got the 160 and 200 but I might look at a 140 as well at some point to give me the traveling light / lighter option

The 160 is rather large. I sent mine back.

Well the 200 is quite a bit larger than the 160 too but bags are designed for certain requirements in the amount of gear thay carry . It's great that we have choices .

I was thinking the same thing, comparing the 160 to the Lowpro Commercial AW ;-)a

I've ordered from these guys a few times Evan and excellent service . They are in Ontario Canada BTW . Free shipping and better prices than any CDN seller I've seen .

I have the 160 and 200 also. The 200 is essentially 1.5 160 models stuck together.

FYI, when I had my 140, I found that the small size combined with the stiff material made it hard to pack and fill. Not much give in the bag when I had it. You should try one out in person if you can before you buy it. The 140 is a nice bag, don't get me wrong. It just was not the right size for me. The 160 works much better for what I carry.

The bigger issue for me with the 140 is that it is not deep enough for the 70-200 lens which I usually like to have with me....just in case ;) The 160 and 200 fit the lens attached to the body just fine .
