Spaceweather told us that it should be excellent auroras last night.
Here is was overcast but the aurora was missing.
I tried out some borrowed lenses. The EF 24mm f/1.4 was amazing.
So sharp and light sensitiv. first I tried it in Av mode, but it got so bright that I had to do it manual.
This image is 6s, ISO 200 at f/2. Not much aurora here but I am amazed of this lens. I think the clouds look almost 3D due to the big moon last night.

What body were you using? I would have tried a higher ISO like 400 or 800 and possibly stopped down a bit to f/2.8

I did it with the 7D
Here are screen shots from ACR, ISO 400, 6s and f/1.4.
As you can see the aurora is almost hidden here.
Didn't remove the light and the tree top ;)
The bottom is with 3.2s

Yeah, that's why I say stop down a bit. f/1.4 is gonna let in way too much light for something like this. If you tried it at f/2.8 with a higher ISO and a longer exposure I bet it would have come out even clearer.
