Need a Telescopic Remote Boom so my lazy butt don't have to keep lowering stand or climbing up on a latter.

Yes, Sheldon, you are fast becoming known as the Mic of the Northern Hemisphere. Not to worry, though. Mic's taking a buying breather at the moment. Over the next few months he'll be buying the Gossen Digisky and the 150cm indirect deep octa for sure and probably some other doodads as well. Remember, the Australian Dollar is now worth MORE than a US Dollar. Mic's had a high speed direct telemetry link installed between his house and B&H.

I also wanted to mention the sensational landscape photography found in your Flickr stream. You deserve a 24mm f/1.4L II and will certainly put it to *very* good use.

Dave F.

Thanks Dave, I appreciate the kind words. Landscape photography is a deep passion of mine, and I'm hoping to do more this winter with the snow starting to fly in the mountains.

See Mic, all you need to do is take a couple pictures and Dave says you can buy whatever you want! :)

I had a solo Editorial style shoot yesterday and I must say, I'm going to ditch my skyports. They failed me so many times it wasn't funny, even more so when I got home to my PC and noticed so many dull images. Fortunately I can recover a few and took enough to cover me.

I'm going to get some Atlas Triggers, as when I shot with Ed on the weekend he found the same problems with the skyports on the Quadra. Also going to buy a Hoodman as a few of my shots were underexposed due to the LCD on the 1ds.

Other than that, I loved the resolution of the 1ds and can't wait to do some more shoots, it was a great experience.

Yeah i told Mic to wait a week til the market adjusts to the 600 billion$ the feds printed up

then the buying frenzy will ensue

Don't try to confuse me with the facts, my mind is already made up.

That he is.

Well, probably the Digisky, as I can sell my 358 and cover some of the cost. Would love but dunno about the indirect DO, much as I'd love it.

Remember, an Australian Dollar is now worth MORE than a US Dollar. Mic's had a high speed direct telemetry link installed between his house and B&H.

Yeah, it makes me cry when I think of the stuff I bought (guitar stuff mainly) when it was at 50...

No, he told YOU that, he didn't tell me...

Stupid Skyports!

This is weird - I've used mine out and about, in all sorts of conditions had had about three misfires.

Also going to buy a Hoodman as a few of my shots were underexposed due to the LCD on the 1ds.

That's what the histogram is for.

I doubt they're actually printing it all :-)

It could just have been interference. Ive had issues in the past with them too but have since sorted them all out. One thing I will say is buying cheap ass triggers for critical work is not recommended - get pocketwizards if you don't trust the skyports. A few tips:

Try installing a brand new Skyport battery
Try different channels
Try a different skyport trigger (always need two for redundancy)
Always bring a long sync cord to hook up your camera direct to pack just in case
Don't rule out the pack itself... if you have the luxury of a second one do some testing
I also have skyport universal receivers for my speedlights that can be hooked up to the packs in emergencies

Hope you get it sorted.
