If you're in the market for a Maxi Spot reflector or a 10" HP Sports reflector, there's a bunch for sale here at decent prices. $85 for the Maxi Spot and $50 for the HP 10".

Here's a shot from last year with the 10" HP reflector, about 8ft away camera left. Of course the subjects are my kids. What else would they be?

I like it a lot. I'm wondering how close it is in terms of quality of light to the Maxispot. Has anyone done shoots with both or have experience with the high performance other than sports or event work? I'd love to see some outdoor images with the HP. I have both, the HP is like half the size of the Maxispot (by my memory). So i think it'd be quite different in terms of breadth. The materials are very similar though, it's just a width issue.

Any other words, the backup battery units some people use for things like keeping their computer from crashing if the power drops. Yup.
