Mola Demi + grid/case/diffusion sock arrived today! Looks like one seriously sweet dish. It has the PAD (perforated aluminum diffuser) which is a little hot in the center from a couple quick test shots that I've done. I'm going to add the Opal Glass diffuser and stack the two together as well as get the Elinchrom Frosted Dome for the Ranger head to help throw a little more light sideways within the dish.

I'm curious to see if the frosted dome will make a difference when used with other modifiers like the HP Sports reflector or a Deep Octa with no diffusers.

Dave - before you say anything... I'm done after this. I promise I'll quit!

Sweet!!

Elinchrom Beauty dish on the way for me :D ;)

Softlighter also on the way
Gel holder on the way.
I have more than 1/4 of my modifiers on the way

Sheldon what is your return policy, I want to get this

My 53" Octa arrived today...

I think that'll be it... for a little while, till I realize that the BXRi 250's I bought are, in fact, woefully inadequate for small studio work and "need" the RX 600's. :)

Hey, Mic, that's pretty humorous isn't it?

Mate, it's VERY funny :-)

Hey, admitting I have a problem is the first step to recovery! I think then I need to make reparations to everyone I've wronged.... ahhhh screw it. I'll have a beer and surf the Buy & Sell section instead.

My return policy is that if the BD ever makes a bad photo, you send it back to me for a full refund. If anything goes wrong, it's always the fault of the gear. :)

In other news, Kayell has my replacement heads and leads in, so I'll grab them on the way home from work. Reasonably happy with the turnaround time.

Do you get to keep the old ones to practice dragging and swinging around your quadras, or do you just have to do it with the new?

Since they are all the rage these days, I'm waiting for Korrektor's insntructional DVD :D

Have you looked into the 39" Deep Octa? That's another modifier to put on the short list. A great companion to the 53" Octa.

Don't listen to Mic or Dave. They'll just tell you to be "content" with what you have. :)

It's much easier for Mic to say that, Sheldon. He already has at least one of everything Elinchrom makes.

Nah, had to hand the old ones over. I did't know about the dragging stuff until after :-(

Since they are all the rage these days, I'm waiting for Korrektor's insntructional DVD :D

It'll need subtitles, because it'll be in Russian :-)

I believe the term is "enabler".

Only once you've got a heap of stuff, though :-)

If only myths were true!

I mean, honestly - I don't even have a 74" Octa.

They're actually available on order (they say 6-8 weeks, so make that 10-12 weeks) but not a lot cheaper than B&H or other dealers, so it doesn't make too much sense to buy here.

Was asking about an indirect strip and the dealer told me "what? i don't know, call the manufacturer and tell them to ship it to me, then i will sell it to you". Yeah. Thanks but no thanks. :)
I did call the manufacturer to ask about the price, and they said 40.000,- Rupees (about 880 USD).

Besides, Mic, I just remembered. You have an indirect Quadra or Recta already, don't you? Having one of the indirects qualifies for Dave's statement, I think ;)
