question about the skyport triggers... am I missing something or can you not buy these things on their own? Mainly the ELS transmitter SPEED. ECO look to always be on the brink of "sold out", but seems like bad deal when you consider the transmitter/receiver SPEED combo.

edit: wait, I just found it on adorama, hah.. i swear it didn't come up before

Great video. Great shots.

couple questions:

1) Is that the Setti? I absolutely adore the light in this set, and it really makes me reconsider my current lack of beauty dishes. (might try out the small deep octa as a potential setti equivalent)

2) Did you have this circus tent set up specifically for the shoot, or did you just rent the location in the morning before the shows started? I'd absolutely love to do something like this, but honestly figured all circuses would be instantly against any photoshoot including scantilly-clad models.

Hey mate,
1. Yep Setti in white with white center thingy on the shortest support rod. I too wasn't keen on beauty dishes but the setti kinda changed my mind

2. Nah it was a circus that was in town for a few shows. The model rang to ask if we could shoot and they said ok so in we went. Rent free
You'd be very suprised how many places away from big cities will say yes, come on in.

Hope that helps :)

I love these shots...absolutely perfect backgrounds/props/locations/poses for each outfit. Nothing looks out of place. Very well executed.

Fantastic vid with some great shots Ed - Thanks for posting.

Ironically I saw this post right after watching David E. Jackson's description of his Shear Chaos Circus Shoot (http://www.davidejackson.com …two-the-technical-banter/ (external link)). Very different circuses but both interesting.

wow that was bad ass ed

should have had the clown jump in too  JK

I dont care for David Jacksons video. The music didnt add anything but back ground noise. 90% is him looking at the camera and talking (I get bored easy). Ed. wins this round.

Great BTS videos, Chris and Ed. They're always fun to watch.

I picked up a few Norman to Elinchrom speed rings with hopes to use my existing PCB strip box. It's a bit larger in diameter and needed to take a dremel to make it fit. A few minutes later and I'm in business! Now I need to see if I can do the same for Jerry's BD or if I need to order an Elinchrom mount from him.

Love the bts video ed! The photos are top notch!

I have figured out why international shipping from bh and adorama is so expensive! I ordered some manfroto clamps and avenger cups from bh. They're all on multiple shipping packages and I received a gelly holder for mickeyj by itself in a box 30x20x20cm. The darn things only like 150g and not fragile at all

Adorama are shipping my gopro and DO in separate packages too!

How bizarre! Good to know all the stuff has arrived, though.

I just ordered the BO off them today, straight after they listed it (along with other stuff). Let's hope they've actually got it...

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)
