Dark side really really tempted me as Mic / Dennis will know, but I can say that I'm extremely happy with the 1DIV and glad I didn't swap. I do use a D3s as backup when needed though.

You're looking at it the wrong way. While we're all sitting here pondering what to buy next, you get to enjoy all those new toys again!

Sadly thats true, there are always more toys to get. :(

Hey our glass is cheaper by >< that much

Yeah, but Nikon includes hoods with cheaper lenses. While Canon sell them as extra for non L lenses >.<

Welcome back! If you can live with 600 w/s, what about a 600RX plus a battery inverter?

I'd really like that 14-24, though. And the 200-400...

Get a 1-series!

Our longer glass is, a bit.

Too much! I think I am set on gear for a bit. I am happy with my lighting set up, well maybe a mola later on. Just going to do the DIY scrim for cars.

Going to save for a body 1Ds or 5D 3

Nikons 14-24/2,8 certainly is unmatched.

Man, that's a fully loaded backpack. Really heavy, too, I bet. So, where do you keep the backup camera?

No 85/1.2, though, and that's my favourite lens in the WHOLE world :-)

Otherwise, very nice.

Should I be worried that the two photos in my Flickrstream that get the most faves are of my Ranger and Quadra lighting bags?

Yeah, it leaves the 16-35 for dead.

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

...

I owned the 85mm f/1.2L II for awhile. Truthfully, I wasn't all that crazy about it. The f/1.2 max aperture was of very limited usefulness and the sloooooow focusing bugged me. I also didn't care for the focus-by-wire system. It's a *very* bulky lens and the ergonomics aren't great No complaints about the optics, though. I now use the 85mm f/1.4D Nikkor.
