Indeed, last time I packed my bag full it was 16kg :s I now start to consider maybe a rolling bag would do better than a backpack.

Yes i very much prefer roller bags, but there are times when a backpack simply are more practical even though it takes it's toll on the back.

*Areas where you can't use the wheels
*Times when i need to shoot and walk at the same time (covering a greater distance) and don't have a assistant.

But for everything else i use the rollers.

Robert, I knew all you were doing was inciting Dave and I to fight.

Believe you me, I was prepared for battle royal, but being the gentleman he is, Dave pm'd me, admitted he was wrong in every respect, and said he's dumping all his Nikon gear based on my review. ;)

Right, Dave?

To quote Thom Hogan again:

"In April 2010 Nikon introduced a new version of the 200-400mm. The primary changes for this new version were Nano coating, bringing the VR up to Nikon's new four-stop, tripod-detecting standard, plus the addition of the A/M focus mode. We also lost a tiny bit of close focus range and gained a smidgen of weight and nearly 10% in price. But otherwise, optically and physically the lenses are identical.

Optically, the V1 and V2 are identical with the exception of the Nano coating on the V2. Yes, VR was also upgraded. The V1 200-400mm (at 400mm) mounted on my "antique" D3 was used for this image of my recently departed and sorely missed bearded collie Abigail:

You may find the weight and ergonomics not to your liking, Mark, but I doubt you can take issue with the image quality.

Okay, back to Elinchrom ...

Dave F.

That is an awesome picture, Dave, of a beautiful dog. I love dogs.

But Robert told me you hired him to take that pic with his Canon gear before he switched. I'm just sayin' ;) ;)

Now as Dave said, back to Elinchrom.

My Setti is on the UPS truck for delivery. How do I use it with my 600RX or Quadra if I don't have the necessary speed ring yet?

Come on, fellas, I need an answer. I wanna play with it. :(

I believe at one time I said this to Dave in PM but it's worth saying again. This is an absolutely superb image, Dave. A great tribute to Abigail.

Come on, Mark. I've seen some of your keepers and they were excellent in every way.

It's funny that you're getting the best results from a body that doesn't even have AF.

 I now have my flame resistant suit on.

A bunch of grip gear and about two rolls of gaffer tape? :)

Yep. When you're right, you're right. I've run up the white flag. Already have all of my Nikon and Canon junk on craigslist I've decided to upgrade to this:

This is the future of digital imaging!
