I believe at one time I said this to Dave in PM but it's worth saying again. This is an absolutely superb image, Dave. A great tribute to Abigail.

Just saw your comment, Rob. Thanks much for the compliment. Abigail was a very special creature.

Yes i very much prefer roller bags, but there are times when a backpack simply are more practical even though it takes it's toll on the back.

*Areas where you can't use the wheels
*Times when i need to shoot and walk at the same time (covering a greater distance) and don't have a assistant.

But for everything else i use the rollers.

I know, right now the Streetwalker HD is great. But while traveling the rolling wheels would be great. :) I was looking at something like Airport TakeOff, as it has both wheels and the backpack straps.

The Setti, like all Mola's except the Demi, has it's own stand mount (light just rides along), so a little work with a magic arm and a superclamp, etc., and you should be able to get the Eli head in a close proximity to the correct position in the mounting hole using one stand.

All this talk about the Setti has my Demi craving a sibling.

MDJAK wrote in post #12644653 (external link)
Now as Dave said, back to Elinchrom.

My Setti is on the UPS truck for delivery. How do I use it with my 600RX or Quadra if I don't have the necessary speed ring yet?

Come on, fellas, I need an answer. I wanna play with it. :(

My Basement/Studio project is going on strong, and yesterday I added another tool... a DIY tri-flector, three foam bords taped together and glued to it, a silver gift wrapping paper.
it came out good but it's difficult using it on kids... they don't sit still and so you can't get that perfect catch-light.

Here are some samples that i tested as soon as i finished creating the reflector...
1Ds Mark III, 70-200 f2.8L II, and using a single Digital style 600rx on a BD.

I got carried away and create this virtual makeup in lightroom.

Getting some great results! Looks like the set up is working.

Speaking of differences in opinion, I was unpacking some (gulp) alien bees in the garage yesterday,

Wrong thread sir. You have to check in over there :p
Tom has made the switch!

Do you have some kind of bot running in the background that gooses you whenever the word "bee" appears in a post, Mic?

The downside with Think Tank backpacks is the fact they can hold more gear then you can carry.

Lichtwerk wrote in post #12643308 (external link)
Which is why you get a roller instead. :D

Pssssht both noobs. Get some one else to carry your stuff haha.

How about we return to a more civil discussion.. perhaps something like:

Alien Bees or Elinchrom?

Pentax is a little late to the party, Sony are already pushing it with the size of their NEX series, i mean with some of the lenses it's like running around with a lens with a tiny sensor at the back. The pentax Q even more so due to it's tiny sensor.

Yes, Paul, this is one for the "what were they thinking" file. USD $800 and a microdot for a sensor. Stick a fork in it.

Not really, my quick snap with iPod of TT Streetwalker with quadra in it has like 300 views. Everything is gets less views lol :D

Well, as long as it's not just me :-)

Indeed, last time I packed my bag full it was 16kg :s I now start to consider maybe a rolling bag would do better than a backpack.

Gee, you think? :-)

Hmmm, can I have a bigger sensor with that?

So has the Airport Security 2.0, but at 19KG when packed, it's not a terribly viable option...

Or Gigantism.

Been looking at that for a day or so. It's a P&S thing, I think.

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

hah :) but if its rolling then the 19kg won't be that bad. I find that the laptop adds most of the weight, then comes Quadra batteries. :D

When I take a shot, I know which part I want in focus, and that's the bit that is!
