I have a 430EX, is it possible to use it on a nikon camera?

My 7D hasn't arrived yet, and my friend has a Nikon I could use for some party pictures tomorrow.

It will probably work as a manual flash, not TTL

The center pin is what fires the flash. As long as no other pins touch, it should work for manual flash. For safety I would tape the pins.

I use a Nikon sb-24 on my Canon 50D and it works great in manual.

i've used canon 430 and 580 on my nikon. as people have said, you have to set it to manual mode on the flash.

Can't the voltage fry your camera? I've always heard to avoid using pre-digital flashes on DSLRs, or Nikon on Canon or vice versa. But I'm curious: With Cybersyncs, why would you take the risk of putting it on your hot shoe?

I think it was Flash Zebra that told me that my dads old Nikon Sb-24 would work on my 50D with no problem. He seems like the guy that would know that type of stuff.

My cybersyncs didn't come till a few months after i first starting mounting my flash.

I've used my canon flashes on my nikon d700 many times with no damage. YMMV.
It only works in manual, unless you have the 580II with it's "manual external metering" otherwise known as auto thyristor.
