After very little feedback on my Siena pictures I've decided to try one more time :) going through some of my older p&s photos and doing post processing. What do you think on these? too much? not enough? poor photos?

I like the look of what you have done PP wise. I like the increased saturation. PP is very subjective and it should be to what YOU like. I like the first photo alot, the second and third don't hold my interest. But they are good vacation photos..............

The second and third photos would be great backdrops - they have no central subject, in the 3rd the palms frame an empty space where I would expect a person to be standing. Most people don't just look at vegetation or the ocean horizon. In the 2nd the island is too far off to be an important eyecatcher. The 3rd has sections which could be selected and made into a focal point. In the first pic the color tones are dramatic and the pier is immediately eyecatching, but there is a slight disbelief that the sky and sea would look like that, it also increases the feeling that it was hot even tho it looks like a rain squall too.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Vacation photos with color is what I was going for all around. Something that could maybe be grouped together on the wall to bring color. As for the color in the 3rd, I don't know if you've ever been to the bahamas but that's what the water/sky looks like a truly amazing place. it was also pretty damn hot :)

Look very good to me and these are probably worth touting around the photo agencies as there's plenty of room for that important message or slogan.

Thanks! Which slogan is that? get drunk and hang out on the beach? that one works for me :) My main concern with these was that they were overcooked. I used slight tone-mapping on them before work with lightroom.

I liked 1 & 2 and thought 3 looked over processed. Also, the color balance in 1 & 2 looks a little magenta (sky), try adding a little green and see if you don't like them better.

Hi rioni,

The first is Compass Point in Nassau?

And yes, that's about the colour of our oceans. :D

I really like #1. The island is too far away in the last two. For me, it's just sort of awkward seeing it way out there.

rioni,

Try March, April, May.
Maybe February if you're a gambler - we actually had winter this year, we had to wear a windbreaker!
November... December.

Just don't do summer in a tropical place. ;)

And next time - skip Nassau and come to PARADISE. The Abacos (and try Hope Town first), just a quick flight from FL or NAS and you're in heaven, truly.

You read my mind :) My next bahamas trip is to the abacos islands and/or the exumas for sure. They look absolutely amazing
