Got bored tonight because I'm not tired enough to fall asleep. So, I decided to get some flash practice which I have been doing everyday for the past week or two.

I like doing stuff like this. The biggest challenge is to decide what end to get in focus.

I knew someone was going to say something about the focus  It seems as if I use a smaller aperture it really takes away from the lighting on the subject. I tried a couple where the "Blackberry" was in focus but since the keys are closest to the eye it really didn't appeal to me.

I have been planning to make a lightbox for a while now but have never got around to it. I just use a white project board and the 430EXII on a stand with a shoot through umbrella.

A simple fix for that would take tow exposures...one with the keys in focus and one when the word blackberry in focus...and then merge them together in photoshop. This method is used all the time, especially in product shots. You should also try taking one with the screen on, I find those photos to be more appealing.

QUOTED IMAGE

Is this some kind of joke, or what? Get out of here with that thing

Lol, nice picture. I'll have another go at it, this time taking two exposures and turning the screen on.

Try setting the camera farther back and taking the f stop higher. The farther you move the subject from the camera eventually the f will be infinity. I had to do a product shot of a motorcycle hub for a friend and I just shot farther back.

Another technique is take multiple shots focusing on different points of the subject then go into photoshop and use the auto blend feature. That will take all the images and turn it into one with multiple points of focus.

Anybody with an iPhone 4 experiencing spam email? And what I mean is email dated in 1969 from unknown sender that cannot be erased? My inbox is flooded with them and I have to restore the phone. Real PIA.
