After reading a few threads on other forums about safety while shooting pics in remote areas, I thought I'd ask. IMO, the only person that can protect me is me. I carry a .45 or .380 most of the time I am photographing in a remote area. I'm just curious how many ppl do the same.

I live in an area where theft is quite low so... no. If I were 70 miles south of where I am, I definitely would. My area is vacation heaven so the people that come here in the summer already have better stuff than me. The ones that stay in the winter don't give a crap, they have snowmobiles, and they hate technology.

The only reason I would need one is for protection from animals.

Terry, you are unlucky bc you can't carry guns but the bad guys still get to. Not a good a plan.

And of course ppl with concealed carry license holders know the laws.

This topic has been, pardon the expression, beaten to death and [B]always[/I] degenerates into pro/anti gun bashing.
