First wedding...

I know, there are lots of these that get posted, but I had my first wedding shoot. I was rather proud of myself since I don't normally "do" people.

I did it as a gift to the new couple as the bride is a good friend of mine. Groom is a 3-deployment veteran Marine along with the three scrawnier fellas.

Not a single member of her family showed up for the wedding because he's not a Jehovah's Witness. They didn't have a lot of money, so I was happy to do this for them.

I think you did a good job. I am sure they will be happy with the photos.

I shot my first wedding Saturday and was going to post a few pictures, but I will just enjoy yours instead Your photographs are beautiful, and the happily married couple will be proud to display your work.

I think for a first wedding you did a nice job and I am sure they will be happy. The sun is too hard in #3 and #4 for me.. and well.. selective color.. I know.. the client asked for it.. But good job.. I know, weddings are hard, and I think it shows you really tried and you didn't just phone it in.

I know, the sun was pretty harsh that day. The wedding was at 4:30 in the afternoon, so I was absolutely flooded with light outside. They wanted me to do all the shots inside, and I wasn't about to let them. It was held at an American Legion, and inside I had about 20 sets of fluorescent strip lights to contend with.

Outside, there was all of 3 trees on the property to get photos under. Despite the gorgeous day, the venue was not the most forgiving both inside and out.

I'm just glad I managed the 150 or so shots that I could be proud for them to have! With more practice, I think I could do people more often.

I'm not really qualified to crit your pictures, but I think the bride and groom will be very pleased with them and I love the 'security detail' one

And just to get it off my chest, I think it's unforgiveable of her family to shun her wedding for the reason they did, and if it were me, there'd be some grandparents down the line missing a grandchild or two.

i think you did a good job too! i also like the 'security detail' shot. the images showed there's not a lot of people in the wedding, but nevertheless the memories was well captured. they were lucky to have you as a friend!

Well done, at least your bride smiled. My first wedding was a disaster, the bride wouldn't smile and the groom fell out with his parents and sulked off to his hotel room for most of the day...!!!! Put me right off, but I'll try again..
