There does not seem to be much price difference; about 100 USD. Oh, will the Speedlite 220 EX flash work on the G 11/12? I'm a quad and the G + the 220 is about all the weight I can handle. The g11 and g12 have the same picture quality and basic photography features. The main difference is the HD video. So I would make that the deciding factor on whether you wait. Probably going with the G12 simply because it is newer. Now to find the best lens protector I can leave on all the time. Lensmate made an excellent one for the G3. I do not care for the G11 72mm but have not seen any other that will protect the lens and housing (?) from 28mm to 140mm. All I want is to protect the housing & lens, and add a UV filter and polarizer. I do not use wide angle lens or telephoto lens. Guess I will have to get the 72mm. G3, G6, G12, T2i + kit lens & accoutrements
