what lens now

hi all ,
i find myself taking more and more pics of family and family events and also scenery , so i dont really use the 70-200 f4 l is that much so was thinking of trading it in for something different , any ideas as to what for .

Keep the 70-200 and get the Tokina 11-16 and a low light Sigma 30mm.

For your basic family events and such you may want to consider one of the lenses in the 15-80mm focal length. There are a few to select from.

What about a standard zoom? Plenty of choice.
If F4 is ok with you... what about the 24-105?
Needing 2.8, the Canon 17-55 or tamron 28-75.
The 15-85 for a little less overlap and some more wide angle.
Agree that a fast prime like the siggy 30/1.4 will also extend your photographic possibilities.

Seems like your 17-50 would already be perfect for scenery, friends and family. Why do you want more lens than that? What is it lacking?

if you don't know what you should trade it in for...you haven't used your kit enough to find where you are lacking...is there anything you can't do now that you want to do?...if not, just pocket the money, until you find a shot you can't take because your gear limits you

thanks for all the advice , didnt say that the 17-50 was lacking , was asking what other lens i could get if i traded the 70-200
