My new baby had her first trip to the range yesterday. Thought I'd post up some pictures (after a proper cleaning, of course).

Not sure I'm too into the crops on these two. I do think I'd like the first one more if it was rotated CCW 90 degrees.

yeah, i shot it with the intention of having it horizontal, however the camera auto-rotated it and i feel it looked best. the focal plane had an odd tilt that made me dizzy when looking at it rotated.

to each his own, i suppose.

What did you name it?

You can never name the gun until it has been properly baptized by firing and , as you get a feel for it, you'll know what to call it.

I purchased my G23 while in the Missouri Ozarks and, immediately after firing I christened it "Cooter", a nice redneck name. LOL

So now he's part of the family with "Beauford" (.357 Mag.), "Bonnie" (12 ga. riot shotgun), "Clyde" (.45 ACP), "Millie" (AR15), and "Molly" (.22LR Rifle) as well as a couple of others loaned by my dad (you never rub another man's rhubarb ... on name their weapons).

The beauty of this is when the bad guy is coming pounding on the door and you ask the wife to "go fetch Cooter" he'll think its a dog! LOL

PS: Oh! To keep this photo related I should add that I like the first photo. Odd to see a yellow target, but I like the image along with some of the spent brass and live rounds mixed in.

(You don't have to be crazy, but it helps!)

Well I drive a Ford, wear a Timex, and write with a #2 pencil. And I shoot with a Glock.

So there.

Your lighting makes the Gen 4 texture stand out nicely.

thanks! at first (before shooting), I really disliked the RTF (rough textured feel), but once I shot that thing and my hands got sweaty I'm SO glad I had it. I shot my buddies Gen3 and it slipped right out of my hands like a bar of soap in the heat. It's not as pretty as the Gen3, but functionally (from the grip, reduced recoil, and enlarged mag release) it kicks butt.
