So I've been shooting all sorts of things and this is my first newborn session ever. Special thanks for Stacey8221 for the Ikea doll bed idea (love your work!) and for the inspiration. Any C&C is greatly appreciated.

Also, any ideas on where to get a good bean bag? This baby was about 2 months and got a bit fussy. I may have another newborn to shoot this weekend and she is only about 2 weeks so hopefully it'll be easier! Any C&C and tips are greatly appreciated!

#3 & #4 are my favourites, the green contrasting with the black i stunning! I love it! I'm still trying to prepare a big amount of props and equipment for newborn shots so I'm definitely teeing up a dolls bed and beanbag along the way too. The best beanbag I have found is this ottoman: http://www.shootbaby.com.au/ (external link)

That Ottoman seems cool but would hate to see what shipping looks like from AU. Anyone know if something like this from Walmart would be sufficient?

Awww thank you so much!! I'm so glad you were able to find the bed! It is definitely one of my favorite props!! Love what you did with it! So cute! How old was the baby?

some nice shots. Dolls bed is cool. The ones with leaves work really well with the black and green. Only thing I would say is that in the last the little one looks in an uncomfortable position to me.

May just be me

Thanks Stacey, such a great idea! The baby was actually 2 months old and he was a bit big for the bed but it worked out okay haha. The mom thought it was hilarious that his foot would hang off the edge sometimes. He was a bit fussy but did seem to fall asleep pretty quickly. What's funny is he fell right asleep and was the most comfortable on the leaves. He got fussy once mom took him off the leaves!

Next session is a baby girl that is about 3 weeks old. I should have a bean bag by then and am gonna try to shoot natural light for her.
