Great-Horned Owl

While out for a walk I ran into this Great-Horned Owl perched in a tree. You seldom see them out in the open like this as they prefer more wooded areas. Maybe crows had chased it out before I got there. Anytime I see an owl is a great day.

That's one beautiful shot of this great looking bird. I have never seen an owl except here on the forum. What a thrill that must be!

I hear owls a lot, but can never spot them. Great find and a great shot.

Beautiful capture, you nailed the focus for sure. I've seen exactly 2 owls in my entire long life, although like others have heard them at night, and even "talked" to them but I never see any! Good job!

Great find and shot. I hear them often and sometimes see them when it's too dark but to see one in daylight and with a camera in hand, perfect.
