Hello
I am an avid reader of the threads on this forum and most of the time my questions are answered through either search or browsing the old threads.

I intend to do a shoot with a SUV (toyota land cruiser in beige color) and a Coupe (Audi TT in white color) together or side by side. I intend to use natural light and the venues available to me are a parking lot with an urban scene in back ground, another lot with somewhat of city landscape in background,a deserted road and a road in desert.

Please help in how to position the cars and ideas on some shots.

I have a cannon 400D and have a 50m F1.8 and 18-300 F4.5 - 5.6 lens along with a speed light.

Some snaps from a recent shoot featuring a different LC

These are pretty nice shots, but they're slightly over the forum size limit. IMAGE POSTING RULES only allow a maximum of 1024 pixels on any side. This time, I'll let you slide on that.

Please help in how to position the cars and ideas on some shots.

Try to not center your subject too much, like in the last one, without a good reason.

To be honest, I wouldn't. Shooting a car is as much about location as it is the car. You need a location which suits the car, and compliments it's use via design. I don't see how you could shoot both an off roader and a coupe in a carpark together, successfully. To be honest, if I saw a shoot like that, it would just confuse me. I'd be thinking "What's with the 4WD and the Coupe? Why are they together?". This is due to the fact that the cars don't compliment eachother. Also a simple carpark doesn't really compliment either.

If you can do this, onyah, but if I was you i'd plan to shoot them both separately and pick your locations to better suit the cars, like you've done above.

Thanks Frank, just read some of your threads, awsome info.

Agnu, you are right, gave up on that idea and now will continue shooting separate thinking metro/urban location for the coupe and off-road/rugged location for the SUV
