The Eneloop charger that came with the batteries is starting to annoy me because I have no idea what the exact charge of the batteries are. Can someone recommend me a charger that can do so? One that can charge individual batteries instead of two at once would be nice too.

I bought the lacrosse charger from amazon. Came with batteries too. Works well.

I like the Maha MH-C800S as it is simple to use and does 8 cells at a time.

Looks like they may have a newer model out now too...

Generaly its a toss up between the C9000 which is a more sophisticated unit, but which only charges 4 at a time - and the c8000 which offers 8 recharging points, but has slightly less sophisticated controls as the other unit.

In the end I went with the C9000 for its battery restoration and more advanced controls, plus for the fact that with the enloops I find that I don't often need to recharge large numbers of batteries all at once.

The thing that irritates me is the Eneloop kit (charger, 8 AA and 4 AAA) kit I bought at Costco came with absolutely NO instructions. Now, obviously, battery chargers are pretty simple devices--plug them in, put the batteries in--but I would like to know what the flashing lights on the charger indicate. Does it mean charging, partially charged or fully charged? It would be nice if that information was included...

flashing = charging
solid = done.

That's what I've interpreted it to be

I also use the MH-C800S; simple and reliable.

Also see this post from member Seanzky, new 2500mAh AA batteries from eneloop!

I don't know what is the best, but I use La Crosse Technology BC-700 and it works well.

I just use the chargers that came with the eneloop kit. I have 3 kits, so 3 chargers.

They take a long time to charge, but the charges are good and they haven't burned down the house, so I don't really see a reason to investigate other chargers.

I don't know if this is the proper place to ask this or if I should start a new thread. But this thread reminds me of a question I have had.

Is it normal for recharging eneloops to take the same amount of time no matter how discharged they are? In other words, if I use an eneloop for just a few flashes and then put it in the charger it still goes through the entire recharging cycle. 6 hours? 8 hours? Whatever it takes. Is this to be expected?

Depends on the recharging unit I would say - if its taking ages recharging even after the batteries are hardly used it sounds like the unit you are using to recharge with is first discharging the batteries fully before then recharging them. Resulting in even light use topup charging taking longer because its first go to drain the current power out.

Another vote for the Maha C-9000. Best charger on the market!
