Devin, absolutely no setting up on this! I helped her put it on and as soon as I grabbed my camera she pulled it off and the result is as shown! You have me wondering what that white thing is now... Will have to try the B&W! Thanks for the tip!

MuPu I agree about the eyes and have retouched the photo to sharpen them. Thank you for the advice! It is greatly appreciated!

There will always be someone that takes better pictures than me so that just gives me so much more desire to learn :)

OK - So what is the lesson you can pull out of this?

1 - watch your depth of field. Try to shoot f/8 with kids. You will probably have a difficult time stepping down smaller than that unless you are in bright light.

2 - Of the two images you shot, which will be more memorable 30 years from now? Think about that question for a while. Usually the unplanned images that show the personality are the memorable shots. Rather than setting the kids up for the "standard" portraits, practice getting great shots of the MOMENTS. When you can do that without having the results look like snapshots, you are really rolling!

Devin, I agree and the one with her pulling the tutu down is going to be the one that I remember the most, just because it was a spur of the moment thing! The look she gives is classic her. I am really trying to focus on the just not a snap shot look. Thank you for the advice :)
