MY 300 f2.8 IS didn't look sharp at f2.8 so I sent it to Canon for checkup. Got the estimate email and it's $300 to fix *ouch*. I'm going to call them and see what fix it needs.

Has anyone gotten the 20% discount with Canon via Silver CPS membership? Who do you talk to? A rep? a manager?

Thanks

I remember I sent my 70-200 f/2.8 IS mark I in for a checkup. They replaced the front filter mount and rear rubber weather sealer. Total costed 250$. I asked them to calibrate and clean it too.

Thanks Siaop...it was a bit surprise to me that it costs that much. I thought it may only need some adjustment. I think Canon may have quoted the flat rate for the repair too.

On the other hand, the 1dmkiii is going to get fixed free of charge.
