Possibility for future Canon TSE's?

More specifically can anyone shed some light on how well the 17L and 24L TSE's are selling, especially in relation to the older counterparts (24, 45, 90)? I think sales numbers would give a proper indication on how high up in the priority list refreshing or adding these types of lenses are to Canon. Unfortunately I get the impression they do not appear overly popular on these forums and they seem to remain niche lenses (in comparison to traditional AF lenses).

The TSE 24LmkII has proved to be one of the most enjoyable purchases I have made since I began interest in photography a decade ago. I'm happy with my current lens-lineup, but I'd be willing to shake that up for a new offering from Canon.

Obviously Canon has other priorities, but I'm hoping to see new TSE offerings within the next 4-5 years. Am I dreaming or could this be a possibility?

It could always be a possibility, but we'll only be sure when they've announced them. So it's just guessing for now.
I don't really think there are plans for new ts-e's.
The ts-e17 and ts-e24II where introduced because canon did't really have stunning wideangle lenses.

The TS-E's are not THAT popular because of several reasons I think:
- expensive
- MF only
- Prime lenses but not that fast
- People who don't know what tilt and shift is about aren't interested
- "These are lenses for architecture" you hear very often. They are great for far more than that.

The ts-e24II is for sure the most fun canon lens I've ever used.

You're probably right, I suppose i'm just hopeful. I don't mind guessing, as long as I didn't feel like it was some longshot. Maybe it'll help if I make it my personal agenda to inform everyone about their greatness.

I would doubt it. Canon already makes more than anybody else I think, and it's hard to imagine what else they might add. They're always going to be expensive because the larger image circle is hard to deliver optically and the interest is minority due to the fact that a) depth of field isn't usually a problem with small format cameras (as opposed to 5x4in say), and b) perspective distortion is usually better corrected in post processing anyway.

I made one the other day for fun with an old 80mm enlarging lens (cost £15) stuck inside a LensBaby Composer with BluTack. It works well, though obviously it doesn't shift much ;)

I'd jump on a refreshed 45 TS-E. I have the 24 TS-E II now and it's great, but I think I could incorporate a 45 more in my wedding work.

Glad to see I'm not alone. If Canon refreshed the 45 with the same treatment they gave the 24, I might would be motivated to sell my 35L to acquire it. And believe me, I love my 35L.

As long as they don't raise the price which they seem to be doing with everything.

Me too :-).

But I don't think they'll come anytime soon... I would like to see first a new 24-70 with IS!
