Photographing a family of five is both exciting and challenging, especially when the kids are ages 6, 4, and 2. I was exhausted when I got home (as usual)! Here are just a few of the many shots from the session. As always, thanks for viewing and commenting!

Tim

1. The mom really wanted to concentrate on a classic portrait that she could hang on their wall. The sun provided a nice rim light just before it disappeared over the horizon.

Very nice photos as usual Tim!
Were all these taken with natural light?

very nice exposure on all them. I also would like to know how the lighting was setup or was this all natural light.

Tigerkn, akphotography07, and fromSF, thank you all. I appreciate the kind words. Lighting on all these was a 580EX into a shoot through umbrella.

Tim,

I love your photos. They always look so clean, bright, crisp and most of all, convey joyfulness. I strive to create images like yours, so I study them carefully.

Am I right in assuming that you're using PocketWizards? (the new ones with eTTL) I see from your shutter speeds that you must be using HSS.

Great shots as always Tim. Really like the rim light in #1. #3 is so fabulous. Quite like that fact you didn't completely blur the background so you still get an idea where the pictures were taken. Looks like all the subjects had a great time shooting. Very clean and crisp.

SubliM3...you are too kind. Thanks for the nice words! I appreciate it.

Sergio...thanks for stopping by and commenting! I appreciate the nice words. I used a 580EXII on board as my master/trigger. And yes, HSS. I find that this simple set up works well for me.

Tawcan...thanks man! I always appreciate your comments. I was thrilled when I caught the final moments before the sun went down.

Great pictures as always, Tim. You do amazing work with children and family portraits. I really like the lighting on these. I want to get a 135L sometime soon. I love what you do with the 35L/135L combo.

Great shots as always little kids can be tough for sure. I noticed that all the pictures you have shown here have the subject in the dead center. They all are well lit and have good exposure but I find the lack of varied composition a bit repetitive any with the subjects in one of the other quadrants?
